Mount Fuji is one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks. Over 3,770 meters high, it’s also the highest mountain in the country.

Located in Shizuoka prefecture, you can get there by taking the Fuji Excursion Limited Express Train from Shinjuku Station in Tokyo.

There are plenty of activities that you can do in the area including climbing tours, hot springs, and tea farms.

  1. Visit Osaka Castle

Osaka Castle is one of the most popular attractions in the Kansai area. Built in 1586, the historical landmark has been destroyed and rebuilt several times over the past few centuries.

The current structure, however, remains true to the original.

What’s inside the castle? An eight-floor museum that’s filled with screen paintings and artifacts. If you want, you can even try on some samurai costumes!

  1. Visit Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is located in downtown Hiroshima—near the epicenter of the atomic blast.

A symbol of peace, it’s visited by more than one million people every year.

In addition to monuments, there’s also a museum that features exhibits from the nuclear attack. Another thing to see is the Atomic Bomb Dome, the only building left standing after the blast.

  1. Visit Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower is one of the most prominent landmarks in Tokyo. Built in 1958, it’s slightly taller than the Eiffel Tower, which was the inspiration for its design.

The second-tallest structure in Japan, it offers a stunning 360-degree view of the city below. Aside from the observation deck, there’s also an aquarium on the first floor that you can visit for a small fee.

  1. Visit Miyajima
